An Aether Spring

Boons are a game mechanic in Aethermancer. It appears during the exploration sections of the game.

A boon is a buff the protagonist can get in structures called Aether Springs, cracks on the enviroment where Aether bursts from the fabric of reality. Usually, they'll find one or two springs per run. In order to be able to use a spring, the player has to fight a combat associated with it. When the combat is finished, the Aethermancer will be able to get the boon.

Boons are associated with all the four elements of Aether, each element having two possible boons. When the player uses a spring, they are presented with two choices, each one from two different elements. Each element has a boon unique to it and a +1 Aether one. In the choice, both boons are unique or +1 Aether. It's not possible to get one from each.
