Do my eyes decieve me? Another Aethermancer, here, at the edge of the world?

Alioth, also known as The Envoy, is an NPC you can find in Pilgrim's Rest right at the beggining of the game and during your runs in a main area.
Just like the protagonist, he is one Aethermancer, and arrived the town short before you to study the Void. He tells you a bit more about what is the Void, and tells you to go to the holy city of Vigil, beyond the ruins of Terastae.
In Pilgrim's Rest, the player can purchase metaprogression upgrades from Alioth using the Aether Crystals found during the runs. In a main area, such as Pilgrimage Path, Alioth may ocasionally appear and can be interacted with. Those moments focus on artifacts, granting new artifacts, allowing you to trade one of your artifacts for another artifact, or upgrading your artifacts. Refusing any of those options grants 15 gold.
Alioth talks about someone/something called Aequilas. When first interacted with him, he asks if Siriux "was sent to help him", later concluding he wasn't "sent by Aequilas". In the twitter post that revealed him, it says the Envoy will help you in your adventures "while awaiting orders from the council of Aequilas".
Trivia
- Before being appearing in the Closed Alpha, Alioth was revealed by moi rai in a twitter post, although his name wasn't revealed.
