Origin

The Sphinx is a mythical creature originating from ancient Egyptian and Greek mythology, typically depicted as a lion with the head of a human. In Egyptian mythology, the Sphinx is associated with guardianship and protection, often placed at the entrances of temples and tombs to ward off evil spirits. In Greek mythology, the Sphinx is portrayed as a female creature with the wings of a bird, known for posing riddles to travelers and devouring those who could not answer correctly.

In Aethermancer, the Sphinx was designed to closely resemble a house cat.
